1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account on FULLRIDE or using any of our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use FULLRIDE.
2. Eligibility
FULLRIDE is exclusively for verified college students. To use our platform, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Have a valid .edu email address from an accredited college or university
- Be currently enrolled as a student
- Provide accurate and truthful information during registration
3. Account Responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
- All activity that occurs under your account
- Providing accurate, current, and complete profile information
- Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized account use
4. Platform Role & Disclaimers
FULLRIDE is a peer-to-peer carpooling marketplace designed to help college students coordinate cost-shared rides. By using FULLRIDE, you acknowledge and agree that:
- FULLRIDE does not provide, arrange, or operate transportation services of any kind
- FULLRIDE does not dispatch drivers or direct any aspect of the ride itself
- Drivers are not employees, contractors, or agents of FULLRIDE — they are independent users of the platform
- FULLRIDE does not conduct background checks, driving-record checks, vehicle inspections, or insurance verification on any user
- Each user is solely responsible for verifying the identity, license, insurance, and vehicle condition of any person they ride with, and for deciding whether to proceed with a ride
- All rides are arranged directly between users; FULLRIDE simply provides the technology platform that facilitates the connection
5. Driver Obligations
If you offer rides as a driver, you must:
- Hold a valid driver's license
- Maintain the legally required auto insurance for your vehicle and comply with your policy terms — you are solely responsible for confirming your coverage is valid for any ride you provide
- Ensure your vehicle is safe, registered, and in good working condition
- Follow all applicable traffic laws and regulations
- Accurately represent your vehicle, route, departure time, and available seats
- Set pricing within the platform's cost-sharing cap (see Section 7)
- Verify the identity of riders at pickup (student ID check)
6. Rider Obligations
If you book rides as a rider, you must:
- Be ready at the agreed-upon pickup time and location
- Have your student ID available for verification at pickup
- Treat the driver and their vehicle with respect
- Follow the driver's reasonable requests during the ride
- Not bring prohibited items (weapons, illegal substances)
7. Payments, Fees & Cost-Sharing
All payments are processed securely through Stripe. When you book a ride:
- Payment is charged immediately and held in escrow until the ride is completed
- FULLRIDE charges a service fee on each booking (minimum $1.50)
- Drivers receive their payout after the ride is marked as completed (see Section 9)
- Refunds are issued according to our Cancellation & Refund Policy
Cost-sharing only. FULLRIDE is a cost-sharing platform, not a for-profit transportation service. Drivers may not charge more than the platform's cost-sharing cap, which is calculated based on distance, number of seats, and an IRS-mileage-based maximum contribution per mile. This cap is designed to ensure rides remain cost-sharing in nature and not a commercial activity.
Taxes. Users are responsible for their own tax obligations arising from use of FULLRIDE. FULLRIDE does not provide tax advice. Consult a tax professional if you have questions about the tax implications of receiving or making payments through the platform.
8. Cancellation & Refund Policy
Cancellations and refunds are governed by our Cancellation & Refund Policy. By using FULLRIDE, you agree to abide by this policy. Key points:
- Driver cancels or no-shows: Rider receives a full refund including the platform fee
- Rider cancels 24+ hours before departure: Seat contribution refunded; platform fee is non-refundable
- Rider cancels within 24 hours: 50% of seat contribution refunded; platform fee is non-refundable
- Rider no-show: No refund; driver receives full seat contribution
9. Ride Completion & Disputes
After a ride concludes, either the driver or any confirmed rider may mark the booking as completed. Once all bookings for a ride are completed, the driver's payout is released from escrow.
- A completion prompt is sent to all participants approximately 2 hours after the scheduled arrival time
- If a ride is not marked as completed or disputed, FULLRIDE reserves the right to auto-complete the ride after a reasonable period
- Users may contact support@full-ride.com to dispute a ride within 48 hours of the scheduled arrival time
- FULLRIDE may request evidence (screenshots, messages, etc.) to resolve disputes and reserves sole discretion over payout and refund decisions in disputed cases
- FULLRIDE may override standard refund or payout rules when fraud, abuse, or misuse is suspected
10. Chargebacks & Payment Disputes
Payments are processed through Stripe, which may reverse funds in the event of a chargeback or payment dispute initiated by your bank or card issuer. You agree that:
- Filing a chargeback instead of using FULLRIDE's cancellation and dispute process may result in account suspension
- FULLRIDE may collect amounts owed from your account where permitted by law
- Repeated chargeback abuse will result in permanent account termination
11. Community Standards
FULLRIDE is designed to prioritize trust and mutual respect among student travelers. All users must:
- Treat all users with respect and courtesy regardless of race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, or disability
- Not engage in harassment, discrimination, or hate speech
- Not use the platform for illegal activities
- Report safety concerns or violations promptly
- Provide honest and fair ratings and reviews
12. Ratings & Reviews
After each completed ride, both drivers and riders may rate each other. Ratings are public (star averages only). Written comments are shared only with FULLRIDE for quality and safety review and are never displayed publicly. You agree to leave honest, constructive feedback.
13. Prohibited Conduct
You may not:
- Create multiple accounts or impersonate another person
- Use FULLRIDE for commercial transportation or to generate profit beyond cost-sharing
- Circumvent or manipulate the payment system
- Post false, misleading, or deceptive ride listings
- Harass, threaten, or intimidate other users on or off the platform
- Share or solicit personal contact information to arrange rides outside of FULLRIDE
- Drive under the influence of drugs or alcohol
14. User Content
By posting content on FULLRIDE (ride listings, profile information, photos, messages, reviews), you grant FULLRIDE a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute that content as necessary to operate the platform. You retain ownership of your content.
FULLRIDE reserves the right to remove any content and suspend or terminate any account at our discretion, including content that violates these Terms, is reported by other users, or is otherwise objectionable.
15. Account Suspension & Termination
FULLRIDE reserves the right to suspend or permanently terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in unsafe behavior, receive repeated negative reports, or are no longer a verified student. You may also delete your account at any time through your Settings page.
16. Limitation of Liability
FULLRIDE provides the platform “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. FULLRIDE does not guarantee the availability, quality, punctuality, or outcome of any ride. To the maximum extent permitted by law, FULLRIDE is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, including but not limited to:
- Accidents, injuries, or property damage during a ride
- Loss or theft of personal belongings
- Actions or omissions of other users (drivers or riders)
- Service interruptions or technical issues
- Inaccurate information provided by other users
17. Force Majeure
FULLRIDE is not liable for any failure or delay in performance resulting from causes beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, severe weather, pandemics, government actions, road closures, power outages, internet disruptions, or other force majeure events. Ride cancellations due to such events are handled at FULLRIDE's discretion.
18. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless FULLRIDE, its founders, employees, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising from your use of the platform, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party.
19. Intellectual Property
The FULLRIDE name, logo, design, and all associated content are the property of FULLRIDE. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or use any FULLRIDE intellectual property without prior written consent.
20. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via email or an in-app notification. Your continued use of FULLRIDE after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
21. General Provisions
Entire Agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Cancellation & Refund Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and FULLRIDE regarding use of the platform.
Severability. If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
Assignment. You may not assign or transfer your rights under these Terms without our prior written consent. FULLRIDE may assign its rights and obligations without restriction.
Governing Law. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
